Each order will include one authentic Mark Twain handwriting fragment selected from the menu. An example of the selection of Twain words can be seen in the 2nd photo. You will receive one authentic piece of Mark Twain’s penmanship encapsulated by Beckett.
Each encapsulated word was individually removed from an undated letter from Twain on his Riverdale on the Hudson letterhead to a Mr. Seaman declining an invitation, saying that he will “doubtless be on the other side of the world at that time…[or] shall be, if our plans do not fail us.” The Clemens family loved the house at Riverdale (later known as "Wave Hill”). It was an enormous fieldstone, three-story mansion. Genuine Twain handwritten documents can often sell for thousands of dollars.
The cost of authenticating a single word of Twain's handwriting is $200 on Beckett's website.
