FAQ
Will Additional Words Be Added to This Item?
We do our best to keep the number of words available for each historical figure relatively high. If inventory for a particular individual is running low, it may be a sign that we are approaching the end of our available material for that person. That said, we do periodically make additional words available as new material is acquired and returned from third-party authentication services. Availability can therefore change over time depending on what historical material we are able to source and authenticate.
Why do you cut up the documents?
In many cases, these documents are already damaged, distressed or of minimal historical significance. Some are partial notes, or in poor condition, while others are fragments.
Will you make more encapsulated words from other historical figures?
Yes. We are continually working to expand our offerings and release encapsulated words from additional historical figures whenever possible. That said, obtaining authentic historical handwriting is an extraordinarily difficult and time-consuming process. Sourcing suitable documents, verifying provenance, preparing the material, and completing third-party authentication can take significant time. From the initial acquisition of a document to the release of a finished encapsulated piece, the process is often close to a year.
Why collect cut words?
Give the gift of history! More than just collectible cards, cut words are fun, educational, unique and thoughtful gifts for friends, family, co-workers – or anyone with a passion for history.
Where can I see where my word came from?
In each listing we have uploaded images of the original documents which we removed each word from. Additionally, we have uploaded scans of the documents to the "Original Documents" tab on this site.
Will I get a copy of the original document with my order?
We do not offer physical copies of the document with orders. If you would like a copy you may download the image from our website.
Can the encapsulate be opened?
No. The holder is permanently sealed by the third-party authentication company using proprietary sonically sealed technology designed to protect the handwriting and preserve the integrity of the authentication. Attempting to open or tamper with the holder would permanently compromise the encapsulation and void the authentication protection provided by the grading company.
What is your return policy?
No Return Policy: All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges for any products unless the product is damaged or defective upon arrival. We thoroughly inspect all products before shipment to ensure they meet our quality standards.
