Offered for the first time ever – genuine handwritten words from American military officer and legendary “Last Stand” Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer, authenticated and encapsulated by Beckett.

An exclusive CutWordCo Limited Edition, this is the first set of Custer words encapsulated by Beckett ever offered for sale! Each individual word was carefully removed from an original handwritten letter from George Custer to his wife, Elizabeth. Don't miss this exceptional chance to own an authentic piece of penmanship from the legendary Little Bighorn hero.

Each order will include one authentic George Custer handwriting fragment selected from the menu. We are unable to accurately identify each word, as such we have labeled the words by price. An example of the selection of Custer words can be seen in the 2nd photo. You will receive one authentic piece of George Custer’s penmanship encapsulated by Beckett.

Each encapsulated word was individually removed from a September 1872 letter from Custer to his beloved wife, “My precious darling...”, Elizabeth “Libbie” Custer, affectionately signed, Autie. Custer’s nickname was “Autie” because, as a child he couldn’t pronounce his middle name, “Armstrong”, and the best his infant tongue could manage was, “Autie”.

To conserve precious paper, Custer first wrote across the page horizontally, and later when pressed for space, he wrote vertically over the original note.

Genuine Custer documents can sell for thousands of dollars. The cost of authenticating a single word of Custer's handwriting is $250 on Beckett's website.
