Each word has been removed from a handwritten letter Florence Nightingale wrote to her friend Mrs. Robertson. Nightingale wrote the letter on August 14th, 1889 thanking her friend for sending a "kind letter...flowers & beautiful marigolds". In a nursely fashion, Mrs. Robertson, who apparently was recovering from illness, is recommended by Nightingale to get a "good deal of rest".
